We ask organisations to take the ‘renovation’ subscription to account for higher intensity use by multiple people.
The upshot is that different members of the organisation can come and collect tools during opening hours.
two steps to becoming a member
1. First, fill in the subscription form on the right. Let us know which membership type and payment method you prefer. Note that you can upgrade your membership at a later stage if needed.
2. Next, create a new profile in our inventory. Using this profile, you can make reservations and check the availability of your desired tools. Having a profile in the inventory is mandatory in order to borrow tools at Tournevie.

Frequently asked questions
Number of loans: while there is no limit to the number of loans you can take throughout the year (or month), it is not possible to borrow more than 2, 5, 8 or 10 tools simultaneously, depending on your subscription. If you need other tools, you can upgrade your subscription in the tool library or via mail (at admin@tournevie.be) to be able to borrow more tools. Alternatively, you can simply return the tools and then take a new set of new tools. Or you can take the custom deal, described at the bottom of this FAQ.
Number of tools per loan: you can borrow as much protective gear (glasses, gloves, trousers, …), accessories (circular saw blades, router bits, …) and consumables (like jigsaw blades, sanding paper, … which we have for sale) as you need, meaning they are are not added to the maximum amount of tools of your subscription. You will also not have to make a reservation for these, as we have plenty of the items in stock at the tool library.
Loan extension: you are able to self-renew loans by using our online reservation system after the halfway point in the loan. For instance, the option to renew will appear in your list of borrowed tools after 3,5 days in the case of a one week loan, or 7 days for a 2 week loan. We do this to encourage members to get the job done sooner, and provide others with the opportunity to use the tools as well. Check our detailed FAQ on how to use this feature.
Usage fees: the memberships cover the cost of the use of the tools, the repairs if needed, the storage and handling of tools as well as occasional advice on its use where possible. Some items such as accessories used for cutting one way or another wear out after a while. We mutualize these costs by charging a modest usage fee. Gift card: If you want to donate a membership of any type (or even training courses) as a gift, you can do so by sending us an email at admin@tournevie.be explaining which membership or training course you want to donate and to whom. We will provide you with an online gift card. We can also provide a wooden gift voucher upon request. Let us know at admin@tournevie.be and drop by at the tool library during opening hours to get it.
Which membership to take:
Trial: ideal for one-offs, for instance if you just want to sand a table (you’ll just need a rotary orbit sander and a vacuum cleaner).
Bricoleur: ideal for basic DIY projects such as stripping the paint off a staircase (you’ll need a heat gun, a scraper, a random orbit sander, a delta sander and a vacuum cleaner).
Comfort: ideal if you want to do weekend projects such as building a bookcase out of plywood (you’ll need a measuring tape, a carpenter’s square, a circular saw with a guide rail and clamps, a vacuum cleaner and a drill-driver).
Renovation: ideal for bigger projects which also take more time, such as creating an opening in a brick wall (you’ll need a scaffolding tower, a level, a pair of stanchions, a large angle grinder, a pneumatic breaker, a sledge hammer, a crowbar, a shovel and a vacuum cleaner - and a week later you’ll likely want to keep the scaffolding and switch to a level, a small angle grinder, a plaster mixer, a bucket, a straightedge, a trowel, a float and a putty knife)

Custom deal
When to use this: you need more tools and/or would like to keep them for a longer duration than what is proposed in the 4 standard subscriptions, we offer a custom deal to account for the extra workload, use intensity and the impact on the availability of tools to other members.
Concept: We propose a fixed price per tool loan, on top of which comes a supplement depending on how many weeks you borrow.
Price: For power tools and scaffolds: the fixed price is € 25 per tool, and a € 5 supplement per week. For all the rest, including hand tools and accessories, the fixed price is € 3, and a supplement of € 2 per week.
Bonus: if you take a custom loan, you will get a bricoleur subscription for the rest of the year. If you use this subscription but once again need to borrow more than 10 tools or take a loan of more than 2 weeks (surpassing the bricoleur subscription limits), you’ll need to take another custom deal.
For example: 8 power tools and 5 hand tools for a 1 month job (4 weeks) amount to: (8*25 + 8*5*4) + (5*3 + 5*2*4) = € 415. Buying professional tools would be much more expensive.
How it works: Choose “Custom deal” in the subscription form above and write us an email at admin@tournevie.be to explain what you want to do and how long you need the tools. You can also create an account in our online platform already, and reserve the tools you need. We will edit the reservation (i.e. loan duration) manually later on.
